The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) is now running entirely on renewable energy, marking a milestone in sustainable public transport in the Philippines. The terminal now sources 100% of its electricity from geothermal power supplied by First Gen Corporation, ensuring uninterrupted operations even amid evolving national energy conditions.

“Our operations are anchored on stability and sustainability. By utilizing geothermal energy, PITX can maintain continuous service while contributing to a cleaner and more resilient energy future,” said Mohit Malhi, Chief Operating Officer of PITX.

As the country’s first landport, PITX serves as a critical hub for commuters in Metro Manila. Its reliance on geothermal energy—an indigenous and dependable renewable source—enhances operational resilience against global fuel supply volatility.

To complement its renewable energy use, PITX has introduced Xpress EV through the Xpress Super App, an electric-powered transport option for passengers within the terminal. 

“Integrating renewable energy with electric mobility allows us to future-proof the commuter experience. At PITX, sustainability and service reliability go hand in hand,” Malhi added.

While there are no current directives for power interruptions, PITX has implemented contingency measures, including backup systems, coordination with transport partners, and enhanced passenger support, to maintain seamless operations.

The terminal also emphasized its ongoing collaboration with government agencies to ensure commuters enjoy a safe, efficient, and environmentally conscious travel experience.
