G-Drive Solutions deploys generator units to support MRT-7 build

A local generator firm has supplied temporary power units to support the ongoing construction of Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7), helping sustain operations across several station sites during the project’s development phase.

G-Drive Solutions, the local generator firm, has deployed multiple 150-kilovolt-ampere generator sets to provide electricity for construction equipment, lighting systems, and essential site facilities. The units were used in areas where permanent grid connections have yet to be established, thus allowing work to continue without interruption.

Temporary power solutions are commonly used in large-scale infrastructure projects to ensure continuous operations, especially in early construction stages when access to stable grid supply may be limited or not even possible at the moment.

MRT-7 is a 22-kilometer railway project designed to connect Quezon City to San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. The line will feature 14 stations and run primarily along Commonwealth Avenue, which is one of Metro Manila’s busiest corridors.

Once operational, MRT-7 is expected to reduce travel time for commuters traveling between northern Metro Manila and Bulacan, while also helping ease congestion along major roads.

The project forms part of broader efforts to expand and modernize the Philippines’ public transportation system through increased investment in rail infrastructure. Large-scale transit developments such as MRT-7 are also seen as catalysts for economic activity, encouraging residential and commercial development along their routes.

What other factors most often determine whether large infrastructure projects like MRT-7 stay on schedule?
