Uniview’s Hopetrek launches AI-powered home energy platform in Philippines

Hopetrek, the energy storage brand of Chinese technology company Uniview, has entered the Philippine market with an integrated smart home platform that combines battery storage, solar optimization, electric vehicle charging, and home security.

The company formally launched its “Smart & Safe Home” ecosystem in Manila on May 19, targeting households and businesses looking to reduce electricity costs and improve resilience against power interruptions and voltage fluctuations.

Hopetrek said its platform brings together backup power, solar energy management, EV charging, and security systems into a single AI-enabled ecosystem.

“At the center of the launch is Hopetrek’s ‘LESS IS MORE’ concept,” the company said, describing the approach as a way to simplify household energy use while improving reliability and safety.

The system features a 4-millisecond backup switching capability designed to keep sensitive electronics and appliances running during sudden outages. It also supports optimized solar self-consumption to lower electricity bills and is engineered to operate within a voltage range of 170 volts to 290 volts, a feature aimed at coping with unstable grid conditions.

Hopetrek said artificial intelligence serves as the control layer that coordinates energy distribution, safety monitoring, and smart home functions through a unified platform.

The company is also building a local installer and partner ecosystem in the Philippines through a technical training and certification program. The initiative includes marketing support, demo unit incentives, and local availability of spare parts.

To support after-sales service, Hopetrek said it is setting up local teams and a 24-hour response mechanism during working days to assist partners with deployment and maintenance requirements.

Globally, the company said it operates in more than 200 countries and regions, with localized teams in 21 countries, five warehouses, and more than 500 sales and marketing personnel. It also cited six research and development centers and two innovation institutes supporting product development.

For the Philippine market, Hopetrek said its broader vision is to integrate solar generation, energy storage, EV charging, security systems, and AI-powered home controls into one platform.

The residential energy storage market has been expanding alongside rising adoption of hybrid solar-plus-storage systems. In the Philippines, solutions from EcoFlow, Huawei, Sungrow, and a few others are increasingly present through solar installers and authorized distributors, reflecting broader uptake of hybrid inverter and battery configurations in both residential and small commercial applications.

These systems are increasingly deployed in households and small commercial facilities as demand rises for backup power, improved energy management, and greater resilience against grid interruptions and fluctuating electricity supply.

What do you think? Will Filipino households embrace all-in-one AI-powered energy and smart home systems as electricity costs and reliability concerns persist?
