Leukemia stricken child’s dreams come true in Cleanergy Center

It was a dream come true for little Janard.

On April 21, 12-year-old Janard Morfe got a glimpse of what it’s like to be an engineer as he was able to tour the Cleanergy Center at the AP Renewables, Inc. compound in Brgy. Bitin, Bay, Laguna.

The Cleanergy Center is an educational facility that gives free tours to educate the public about clean and renewable energy.

“Habang tumatagal nag-enjoy na po ako sa mga (bagong) Ate at Kuya ko. Nag-enjoy ako makita yung mga bagay sa AboitizPower at ma-experience yun. Hindi ko po makakalimutan yun,” Janrad said.

Janrad, at a young age, is currently battling Leukemia.

“For us in APRI, Janard is a reminder to always be better in our work. He inspired us to consistently excel, in the same way we tried to inspire him to continue dreaming despite all hardships,” VP for facility of APRI MakBan Geothermal Power Plant Engr. Warren Maralit

The visit was made possible through Make – A – Wish Foundation, a non-profit organization that grants wishes of children battling life – threatening medical conditions where Janard is a beneficiary.

The Cleanergy Center is the first energy facility of AboitizPower that focuses on the environmental awareness and renewable energy education.
