PhilEnergy 2024 to highlight developments in renewable energy

With the increasing potential in the energy sector, PhilEnergy 2024 is shifting its focus to accommodate developments in Renewable Energy (RE), Energy Efficiency (EE), and Electric Vehicle (EV), as well as Electric and Power (E&P), and Energy Storage (ES).

What was once a part of Informa Markets’ Water Philippines Trade Show, PhilEnergy has been unveiled as a stand-alone event to bolster the potential of the energy industry.

The event, which would be held from March 20 to 22, 2024 at the SMX Convention Center, would open its doors to local and international energy leaders, organizations, brands, and over 4,000 trade visitors in the energy industry.

“It is a significant trade show as it is a collaborative effort aimed at further propelling the clean energy revolution towards a sustainable and net-zero future,” said Informa Markets Country General Manager in the Philippines Rungphech ‘Rose’ Chitanuwat.

Moreover, the event would feature forums and conferences expounding on the progress in the current Philippine energy landscape.

Chitanuwat added that the event aims to support the government in its policy to strengthen the renewable energy portfolio of the country by 2030, as this policy now involves energy efficiency.

Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance Inc. (PE2) President Alexander Ablaza said that the country had the most inclusive laws in energy efficiency, as the Department of Energy (DOE) signed a circular lowering the consumption threshold to 50,000 kilowatts (kW).

Ablaza added that energy efficiency also had its barriers, saying “Energy efficiency’s number one barrier is not just technology, it’s not just policy, it’s not just financing, it’s also behavioral change.”

Meanwhile, Developers of Renewable Energy AdvanceMent President Atty. Jay Layug said, “Millions of households are still without electricity. Renewable energy may be the only option for many of them. With the help of RE, access to electricity will no longer be a privilege. It will be a reality for more Filipinos.”

Don’t miss out on being at the forefront of change. Secure your spot at PhilEnergy 2024 and witness the advancement shaping the future of the energy sector.
