Therma South Inc. turned over a new barangay health center they built to the residents of Barangay Inawayan in Sta. Cruz town, Davao del Sur on September 17.
The health center is a part of TSI and Barangay Inawayan’s Community Health Enhancement Program.
The project was to improve the health center in Inawayan, the most frequently used facility of the barangay.
“The former health center of Inawayan is dilapidated and is still in the old location of the barangay hall, which is around 300 meters away,” said Jason C. Magnaye, TSI Corporate Social Responsibility Manager.
The health center was funded by TSI, the Aboitiz foundation, together with the local government of Sta. Cruz.
“Through this new health center, we hope that those living in Barangay Inawayan and neighboring communities will have better access to health care services by the government,” Sebastian R. Lacson, President and Chief Operations Officer of Therma South Inc. said.
The program will also provide an information, education campaign (IEC) to TSI’s host communities on proper health and safety measures on respiratory health and basic sanitation practices.
The health IEC campaign will also reach Barangay Darong, Sta Cruz, Davao del Sur and Brgys. Binugao and Sirawan in Toril, Davao City.
“We would like to extend our thanks to Therma South, who has been supporting the community since they came here. The support you have given to us will never be forgotten,” said Sta. Cruz Mayor Alexis C. Almendras
Therma South Inc. is a subsidiary of the Aboitiz Power Corporation, the holding company of the Aboitiz Group’s power generation, distribution and retail electricity services.
