MSpectrum, a Meralco subsidiary, is installing a combined 1.53 MW of solar capacity at Landers Cebu and Fairview branches—enough to generate over 2 million kWh of clean energy yearly and cut more than 1,500 metric tons in carbon emissions.
MSpectrum, Inc., the solar energy arm of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has expanded its clean energy collaboration with Landers Superstore through two new rooftop solar projects at its Cebu and Fairview locations.
The 600-kilowatt peak (kWp) system for Landers Cebu is expected to generate approximately 960,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of solar power annually. This will offset around 683.71 metric tons of carbon emissions each year—the equivalent of planting more than 31,000 trees or eliminating over 2.7 million kilometers of vehicle travel.
At Landers Fairview, MSpectrum is developing a larger 930-kWp rooftop solar installation, projected to produce 1.19 million kWh per year. The project will cut 845.95 metric tons in annual carbon emissions, equal to planting nearly 38,000 trees or reducing 3.37 million kilometers of vehicle travel.
Landers Superstore, operated by Southeast Asia Retail Inc., has been integrating renewable energy into its operations in partnership with MSpectrum since 2023. These latest installations are part of the broader effort to enhance sustainability while managing energy costs across its branches.
“We’re proud to partner with MSpectrum as we take meaningful steps toward becoming more environmentally responsible. Sustainability is a growing priority not just for the company, but for me personally as well,” said Pieter Dhoni Lukman, Chief Operating Officer of Southeast Asia Retail. “This solar initiative is not only about reducing operational costs, but also about contributing to the country’s efforts in promoting clean energy.”
“Our commitment goes beyond offering Filipinos quality products from the U.S., Europe, and other countries—we are also dedicated to doing our part for the environment by adopting cleaner, greener solutions like solar power,” Lukman added.
MSpectrum President and CEO Ma. Cecilia M. Domingo said the partnership demonstrates the commercial value of solar energy and its alignment with responsible business practices.
“MSpectrum is installing solar power solutions in several Landers branches, and today, we proudly add two more—Landers Cebu and Landers Fairview,” she said. “These installations will significantly help reduce carbon emissions, optimize energy consumption, and generate cost savings that can be reinvested into enhancing customer experiences and operational efficiency.”
“We are honored to support Landers in this important transition and look forward to continuing our partnership as we work toward a more sustainable future,” Domingo added.
MSpectrum has installed over 80 megawatts (MW) of solar rooftop capacity to date, serving commercial and industrial clients nationwide. The company continues to expand its reach as more businesses pursue decarbonization and long-term energy efficiency.
