NexGen fast-tracks 14 renewable projects, in talks with global investors

NexGen Energy Corp. reported major progress in its renewable energy pipeline during its 2025 Annual Stockholders’ Meeting held on July 7, emphasizing growth across wind and solar developments, alongside active international investment discussions.

Company President Eric Y. Roxas described 2024 as a “foundational year,” marked by NexGen’s successful IPO in July 2024. The public listing, he said, strengthened the firm’s capital base and affirmed its long-term position in the country’s clean energy sector.

NexGen now holds a development pipeline of 14 renewable energy projects: 2 solar, 7 offshore wind, and 5 onshore wind, all with awarded service contracts. Four projects are in advanced stages of development. The 9.9 MW Palauig Solar Farm—an expansion of the company’s existing Palauig plant—is scheduled to begin operations by mid-2026.

Key offshore and onshore wind developments have also reached critical milestones. The Real and Mauban Offshore Wind Projects have successfully installed 120-meter meteorological (Met) masts with multi-height wind instruments to assess site viability. The Pandan Onshore Wind Project is currently preparing for its own Met mast installation.

These projects are being lined up for participation in the Department of Energy’s Green Energy Auction Program. The Palauig Solar Farm has been registered for GEAP 4, with plans underway to register offshore wind projects under GEAP 5.

On the financing front, Roxas shared that NexGen is “continually in active discussions with investors from Japan, China, Europe and the Middle East, who have expressed strong and serious interest in co-developing NexGen’s pipeline project.”

“Pursuing and moving our pre-development phases forward, we generate more interest in our projects as well as enhance our shareholder value,” he added.
