Pagbilao Energy says all 9 injured workers stable, Unit 3 remains offline

Pagbilao Energy Corporation (PEC) reported that all nine individuals injured in the recent Pagbilao Unit 3 incident have been transferred to hospitals with specialized care, with their condition now stable.

The company said the affected workers are “continuing to recover quickly with the help of specialized medical teams and their families whom the Company is in close communication with.”

PEC said it continues to extend “medical, financial, logistical, and emotional support” to the affected workers and their families while also arranging counseling and psychological first aid for employees and contractors.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) have conducted an initial investigation and are “now continuously assessing Unit 3,” the company co

Regarding plant operations, the company clarified that “Pagbilao Unit 1 continues to generate power while Unit 2 is expected to return to service today,” but Unit 3 “is currently still on forced outage.”

PEC also urged the public to be cautious about circulating unverified information, saying, “We urge everyone to be mindful and avoid sharing unverified information and sensitive content during this difficult time, out of respect for the privacy and healing of the families.”

“Above all, the safety and well-being of our people remain our utmost priority,” said Lou Jason Diligencia, AVP for Corporate Services. “PEC reaffirms its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety across all our facilities as we move forward together with compassion, care, and vigilance.”
