PLDT Enterprise has expanded its partnership with Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative (ZANECO) to strengthen the cooperative’s digital communications and customer support, a move aimed at ensuring uninterrupted information flow during power outages and emergency shutdowns in the province.
Under the agreement, ZANECO will deploy PLDT Enterprise’s iGate Connectivity and Smart Messaging Suite to improve internet reliability and enable real-time advisories to member-consumers across Zamboanga del Norte. The initiative comes as electric cooperatives face growing pressure to maintain service transparency and responsiveness, particularly during unplanned interruptions.
“With the help of PLDT Enterprise, ZANECO can now stay consistently online and communicate efficiently with our members and consumers. This partnership allows us to better manage inquiries and deliver information faster, especially during power interruptions,” said Atty. Jordanne Chan-Antonio, general manager of ZANECO.
The iGate solution provides stable internet connectivity to support ZANECO’s online platforms for customer concerns and service updates. Meanwhile, the Smart Messaging Suite allows the cooperative to send direct notifications and advisories, complementing its digital broadcasting platform that leverages PLDT’s network to reach consumers more quickly during outages and critical announcements.
PLDT Enterprise said the partnership builds on a relationship that dates back to the early 2000s, positioning digital connectivity as a key enabler of more resilient utility operations in Mindanao.
“PLDT Enterprise is proud to continue supporting ZANECO in its mission to provide dependable service to Zamboanga del Norte. By delivering reliable connectivity and innovative communication tools, we help enable smarter, more responsive utility operations that directly benefit communities,” said Roberto Suzon, business head for CRB North Mindanao of PLDT Enterprise.
“ZANECO has always been a valued partner. Their commitment to service aligns with PLDT Enterprise’s purpose of empowering industries through technology,” Suzon added.
