The Department of Energy (DOE) has announced Monday that the country’s fuel supply is stable, with an average inventory of more than 50 days. This stability is attributed to the arrival of government-secured diesel shipments, which will lead to significant rollback in pump prices this week.
DOE Secretary Sharon S. Garin said that fuel inventories as of April 24 are at comfortable levels: diesel stands at 54.61 days, gasoline at 53.91 days, and LPG at 38.44 days.

“These are good numbers,” Garin said, noting that continuous fuel deliveries are keeping supply levels steady despite daily consumption.
The DOE confirmed that all four diesel shipments secured by the government have arrived, delivering a total of 178.33 million liters to the domestic market.
“The arrival of all four diesel shipments shows that the government is acting with urgency to protect the country’s fuel supply,” Garin said during an online press conference on Monday.
The shipments, delivered through the Philippine National Oil Company-Exploration Corporation (PNOC-EC), were distributed to Batangas, Subic, and Davao, adding about five days of buffer stock.
Meanwhile, the DOE also announced a significant rollback in fuel prices for the week of April 28 to May 4, with diesel prices reduced by at least PhP 12.94 per liter.
“Compare your diesel that you bought last week with the one you will buy tomorrow if the difference is 12.94 pesos minimum,” Garin said, emphasizing that the rollback serves as a minimum adjustment that oil companies must follow.

Gasoline prices, however, will increase by PHP 0.53 per liter, while kerosene prices will drop by PhP 15.71 per liter.
Garin explained that weekly price adjustments are based on global market movements using a standard computation method applied by the DOE.
“This is mathematical… This is based on what happened last week,” she said.
The DOE added that no additional diesel imports are currently scheduled for May, as inventory levels remain sufficient and the government continues to balance its procurement with private sector activity.
An LPG shipment from the US is expected to arrive between May 20 and 31, which is expected to further support supply levels.
