European renewable energy developer Diverxia has appointed Alma Roxas-Aguila as its country head in the Philippines, signaling a more deliberate push into the country’s growing utility-scale solar market.

In her new role, Roxas-Aguila will oversee Diverxia’s local operations and lead the development of utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects as the company expands its footprint in Southeast Asia’s fast-developing renewable energy sector.

Diverxia said its strategy in the Philippines focuses on building a long-term renewable energy platform anchored on structured development, disciplined execution, and compliance with European standards. The company did not disclose project timelines or initial pipeline size for its local entry.

Roxas-Aguila brings over two decades of experience in the Philippine energy sector, particularly in project development, stakeholder management, and regulatory processes.

Diverxia’s entry adds to a growing list of international developers expanding in the region amid tightening decarbonization commitments and improving project economics for solar.

The company develops utility-scale solar projects across multiple international markets and operates as an integrated platform covering development, engineering, EPC contracting, and independent power production.

Diverxia, part of Grupo Alonso, is an international renewable energy company with over 20 years of experience in clean energy development, engineering, and execution. It operates as a fully integrated developer, EPC contractor, and Independent Power Producer (IPP), with projects across multiple international markets.

Diverxia has developed more than 1.5 GW of projects to date and is advancing a global pipeline exceeding 4 GW, according to company data.
