FDC Green Energy Corporation has secured a Certificate of Compliance (COC) from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) for its 20.774-megawatt peak (MWp) Misamis Solar Power Project, clearing the facility for commercial operations and power delivery to the Mindanao grid.
The ground-mounted solar plant is located within the PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental. The COC affirms the project’s compliance with technical, safety, and regulatory requirements, a prerequisite for grid-connected generation facilities.
FDC Green, a wholly owned subsidiary of FDC Utilities, Inc., said the project is expected to generate around 30.2 million kilowatt-hours of net clean energy annually once fully operational, adding new renewable capacity in Mindanao.
“The Certificate of Compliance from the ERC marks a critical step in bringing this project online,” said Juan Eugenio L. Roxas, President and CEO of FDC Utilities, Inc. and its subsidiaries, including FDC Green. “This reflects our commitment to technical and regulatory standards while emphasizing our focus on developing efficient energy systems that promote economic growth and sustainability.”
The additional capacity comes as energy security concerns persist globally, with volatility in fuel markets influencing domestic power planning and procurement strategies.
“The ongoing energy crisis has underscored the need for reliable and sustainable power solutions,” Roxas said. “In an environment where global fuel markets are increasingly unpredictable, projects like this highlight the importance of investing in indigenous and renewable energy sources.”
The Misamis solar project forms part of the Filinvest Group’s broader push to expand its renewable energy portfolio, as developers accelerate buildouts to meet rising demand and diversify the country’s generation mix.
