NGCP issues Yellow alert over Visayas Grid, extends alert hours in Luzon

JUST IN | The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has a yellow alert over the Visayas grid, extends yellow alert in Luzon 

Available capacity in the Visayas grid is at 2,835MW and the forecasted peak demand is at 2,596MW. The yellow alert would take effect from 1:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM.

Aside from EDC-Leyte A Maha Unit 1 (160 MW) going on unplanned outage at 10:23 MW, the Mindanao-Visayas interconnection also decreased following the derated capacity of GNPK 4 from 115 MW to 61 MW. 

Meanwhile, the yellow alert hours in the Luzon Grid has been extended from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
