The Philippine embassy in Saudi Arabia is in talks with FAS Energy regarding solar energy investment opportunities.
In a report by the Philippine Star, Chargé d’affaires Rommel Romato engaged in discussions with FAS Energy Chief Executive Officer for Renewables Marcus Schrauf to deliberate over future avenues for the Philippine solar energy sector and the Maharlika Investment Corporation.
In a statement, the embassy said that the dialogue between both participants is a move towards tapping into the Philippines’ solar energy resources, as well as the possibility of fast-tracking the transition of the country to a more sustainable option.
With solar energy being an essential element of its national energy plan, the Philippines has been working to deliver clean energy alternatives.
Investments in solar photovoltaics are highly desirable due to its abundance of natural resources and rising electricity demand.
